We got proposals from four foundation companies. Noble's quote was by far the cheapest. More importantly, I am convinced that it was the only one of the four that correctly diagnosed the situation. The first three foundation companies came and measured the floor levels in the house and garage, and all three recommended lifting the rear of the house. Then the owner of Noble Foundation Repair, Andrew Guzman, came to the house. After looking inside and out he told me he was very sure that the front of the house needed to be lifted. Then he took the floor-level measurements inside the house. His numbers matched the ones taken by all the other companies: the rear of the house was lower than the front. But he said (paraphrasing here): "This is a case where the measurements are misleading. The foundation must have originally sloped toward the rear: the house was built on a sloping foundation. I am 100% sure of this and the solution is to lift the front of the house." Well. Three companies against one. But Andrew’s view of the problems matched my own observations, so (with a bit of trepidation) we accepted his proposal. He estimated that the work would take about four days. It took four and a half days, including the city inspection. Lifting the front of the house and the rear of the garage has fixed the problems. We are very pleased, and we are sure that we made the right decision in choosing Noble Foundation Repair. Throughout the work, Andrew kept us informed of the progress. He was always available to answer any questions we had. His crew was clearly experienced, they worked hard and efficiently, and they cleaned up the area nicely before leaving. Based on a personal recommendation from someone who had used Noble Foundation Repair before, I contacted Andrew Guzman and we contacted NFR. Andrew came out and inspected my home's foundation and took leveling measurements inside my home. We developed a plan based on the results. The crew came out and was very efficient in their work, and were able to perform their work despite many mature plants and shrubs around the front of my home. They temporarily relocated some bushes and plants, and then replanted them when they were finished with their work. I could not be happier than I ma with both the results of their foundation work, as well as the care they took to insure that everything went back together as it was before they began their work.
